Belle is done with men. Her husband left her and their children for another woman and never looked back. All she knows about her father is that he was a bad man who wound up dead because of his bad ways.

So why does she feel compelled to trust the man in front of her? A man who is obviously lying when he says he’s a snow leopard shifter. There’s no such thing as shifters. Just like there’s no such thing as true love.

Belle’s about to discover she’s wrong about a lot of things.  She’s also about to learn that Rift is the right one for her.

Rift has found his mate, at last. But Belle doesn’t want anything to do with him.

Somehow, he must persuade her that they’re meant to be together forever. However, she wants him to turn around and walk straight back out of her life.

It’s what she wants. He can see it in her eyes.  What’s a shifter to do?

When Belle and her family are threatened, Rift is the one, she calls on for help. He grabs the opportunity to show her what being a shifter’s mate is all about.

But a new discovery threatens the safety of not just Belle’s family, but Rift’s too.

This is an adult 18+ story that contains language, possible violence, and sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

Title:  The Snow Leopard’s Love
Series:  The Bond of Brothers #5
Author:  Harmony Raines
Genre:  Paranormal Romance, Shifter Romance
Released:  June 18, 2021
My Rating:  4.5 stars

The Snow Leopard’s Love is the fifth title in The Bond of Brothers series, and I’ve waited a long time for Rift’s story.  He’s the brother who on the surface seems happy-go-lucky, the one that the kids can play with (since Rift often acts like a kid, too), and the parents (paranormal and human) can trust him to keep their precious babies safe no matter what.  On the surface is important to remember for beneath that laugh and the contented smile beats the heart of a man who has known pain, rejection, and is convinced that he’ll never find his mate and will always be that “favorite uncle” all the kids adore, and nothing more.  That fear is about to become a double-edged sword when Rift’s true mate does come into his life… only to not believe in him, his snow leopard, or even the existence of love itself.  She rejects him outright, and as her mate, he has no choice but to abide by her wishes, even if it tears him apart.

Belle has had her life turned upside down between her husband’s cheating, leaving her and their children, Jack and Rosie.  Plus learning the truth of her father and uncle’s past horrific actions had shut Belle down and she vows to never, ever trust another man again.  The pain is just not worth the small reward, in her mind at least.  While searching for answers to questions that have haunted his brothers’ lives, Rift is along when they go to question a possible lead… and feels the physical and emotional effects of his mate being nearby.  A mate who wants nothing to do with him.

I have loved Rift the most from the beginning of this series.  I try not to have favorites, but this snow leopard shifter won my heart early on and never let go, so it was painful to watch his joy and hope at finally finding his mate only to have that turn to heartbroken ash when Belle rejects him and everything he is.  It would have been easy to not like Belle for that reason alone, but she’s had a lot dumped on her recently and I hoped to see her change her mind eventually.

There is, admittedly, a lot going on in The Snow Leopard’s Love.  Strings of stories that are beginning to tie off into answers, and perhaps the emergence of even more to come.  I adored Jack and Rosie, they easily fit into this huge family of magical beings and non-shifters and it’s obvious they loved Rift.  When real danger erupts that threatens her family, Belle will finally turn to Rift for help and begin to see just how amazing being a shifter’s mate can be.  Watching her change her attitude and open herself up to possibilities with the man who loves her was challenging and heartwarming.

I’ve loved this story and this series so much – and there is still more to come, and new worlds to explore.  If you love a good Paranormal/Shifter Romance, putting puzzle pieces together, with a touch of danger… and lots of love and emotions, then you’d feel right at home with The Snow Leopard’s Love.  I will mention that this series grows on the knowledge from the previous story so reading them in order (if at all possible) is highly recommended.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.

Available for the Kindle (as this is in Kindle Unlimited at this time)
