Witch’s Block by Amy Boyles

Posted May 2, 2022 by Marsha in Owned, Paranormal, Paranormal Cozy Mystery, Paranormal Women's Fiction, Series / 0 Comments

At forty-three, Paige Provey is at the height of her career. As the author of a successful paranormal book series, she has a legion of fans who all believe she has powers herself. But when Paige’s ex-husband reveals that she’s a fraud, she quickly finds herself and her career canceled.

But Paige is still under a publishing contract, so she must put out a new book–one that will save her career. The only problem is her crippling case of writer’s block. So she heads to a lakeside community to refill her creative well.

Only while she’s there strange things begin to happen: Paige speaks to a woman who she swears is transparent, and everyone in town dresses as if it’s Halloween. Not only that but there’s a very mysterious (and attractive) man who claims to hunt monsters.

As if that’s not weird enough, when Paige’s ex-husband winds up dead, she becomes the primary suspect in his murder. Can Paige write another book, figure out the mystery surrounding Willow Lake, and also prove her innocence? Or will all her dreams go up in flames?

Watch for: Running with the Devil by Mandy M. Roth (expanded version)

Posted March 18, 2022 by Marsha in Discussion Post, Paranormal Women's Fiction / 0 Comments

Expanded version! That’s right! It’s no longer a novella! It’s longer!

When a gubernatorial candidate comes through the doors of a small magic shop, claiming he was mystically framed for murder, a witch has to decide if she can put their past behind her and help.

I enjoyed this novella so much when it was in the limited-time collection of Aged to Perfection.

Now, it’s going to be an extended story (and I cannot wait for more juicy details) on its own that will begin the Shadow Ridge series.

Publication is set for April 1, 2022 (at this time)… and I’m definitely going to be picking this one up on release day.  You should, too, especially if you love Paranormal Women’s Fiction and/or Mandy M. Roth’s amazing storytelling.

The Midlife Prelude by Lia Davis

Posted March 7, 2022 by Marsha in Cliffhanger Ending, Kindle Unlimited, Magic & Shifters, Paranormal, Paranormal Women's Fiction, Series / 0 Comments

Omega wolf shifter, Matilda Carol, is about to change her life forever. Starting over at forty-five isn’t the scariest thing she’ll have to face in her new life. But she’ll pay any price to gain her independence. Even if it means she has to die in the process.

Faking her own death and moving away from the only home she’s ever known is intimidating, to say the least. Especially when Mattie has been sheltered and controlled by her uncle all her life. It’s a good thing that her BFF, Julie, is a powerful fae with connections to several paranormal factions that have all sworn to keep Mattie hidden from her uncle.

When Julie goes missing, Mattie will not rest until she’s brought home. But she’s never investigated a missing person case before—or any other case.

When the police can’t find any trace of Julie, Mattie does her own detective work with the help of a vampire king, a witch, and a mysterious hottie who stirs her inner wolf’s mating urge. Wow. She didn’t see that one coming.

Mattie may be packless in Seattle, but she’s in control of her own destiny for the first time in her life. She’s not about to waste this opportunity.

Titles in the Packless in Seattle series include — The Midlife Prelude – The Midlife Shift –

This is an adult 18+ story that might contain language, possible violence, and/or sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

Laugh Lines and Lost Things by Brenda Trim

Posted January 4, 2022 by Marsha in Kindle Unlimited, Paranormal Women's Fiction, Series, Spin-off or connected to another series / 0 Comments

I’m ditching my Spanx, owning my laugh lines, and ready for anything.

I’ve been asked to find a missing ghost and her enchanted sewing machine. Myrna is still out there causing problems and killing witches. And a member of my new coven is missing. Of course, I’m expected to fix it all.

I’m a middle-aged mom and multitasker extraordinaire, so this should be easy. I want to throat punch whoever made that saying up. There is nothing simple about tackling ten problems at once, even if they’re mundane ones.

Before I can get to my growing to-do list, I’m smack dab in the middle of a demon invasion. And, just my luck, the sexy son of Hades is back in the Underworld and not there with his mystical mojo.

To stop the Tainted from destroying my town, I’ve got to face my fears and leap without a safety net. But, don’t worry. I’ve got this. After all, I’m raising a teenaged daughter on my own.

There is no sign that things will settle anytime soon. Apparently, the new status quo is being in the thick of it again and again with turmoil at every turn. I’m going to need another glass of wine.

Titles in the Mystical Midlife in Maine series include — Magical MakeoverLaugh Lines & Lost Things – Hellmouth & Hot Flashes – Holidays with Hades – Saggy but Witty in Crescent City –

**There is a connection to the Midlife Witchery series as the friendship (across the pond) of the two main female characters in both series is mentioned and interacts at times.  I wasn’t a bit lost and didn’t feel that I “had” to go read the earlier series first… but it is now on my TBR list to get caught up on for I’m enjoying this author’s work.**

This is an adult 18+ story that contains language, possible violence, and/or sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

But Primrose Cottage also holds love and laughter. Just what a forty-something mother of two needs to avert a midlife crisis.

All she has to do is deal with an old high school adversary, who likes to remind Merri she is the only member of her family who has no magic and heal her broken heart while finding a new job.

However, when the magic starts to misbehave, Meredith wonders if this new start might not be a good idea after all. But she’s not ready to quit. Magic or no magic she will protect those she loves.

Silas is a centuries-old vampire who made a choice long ago to hide his true feelings from the only woman he’d ever loved. Why? Because he couldn’t give her the one thing she craved.
