The most important detail of all must come first… His Lordship King Snugglebumpkins is back and is his full, snarky, majestic self, as well as a vital part of Exes and Exorcisms, the second title in the Forbidden Fangs series.  I adore that cantankerous being who isn’t truly a cat to pieces… read the series, you’ll understand.  So, of course, HLKS is hereafter known as simply Snugglebumpkins, took top priority for me as we return to a series full of snark, paranormals, comedy, romance, and shenanigans galore. (I expect nothing less from this writing duo)

There was a time when Xavier and Kelly were a happy couple.  Before she was turned, held captive, and escaped to make a new life with her “sisters” in Forbidden.  Kelly has visions, well, sort of since she isn’t getting the exact time that Xavier is going to show up in town, but she knows he’s coming and she intends to avoid him at all costs.  Why?  Well, maybe because she’s a vampire now not the human he once loved – plus that itty, bitty fact that the man she loves is now a vampire hunter.  Yeah.  Talk about a complicated relationship.  Even more complicated is the additional trouble that’s about to hit town which could put these ex-lovers on the same side of the battle.

Xavier didn’t expect to find Kelly alive (well, sort of) and well and living in the town he’s been sent to in order to take down a vampire who is spreading disease.  He had believed that Kelly was dead which sent him on his missions to destroy any vampire he came in contact with.  Now.  Well, it just got complicated… and uncomplicated as well since Kelly is his mate and he isn’t about to harm her in any way.  He might strangle her just a bit over her constant snark, but that’s a different story.

I absolutely loved this vampire and her wolf shifter mate’s romance.  Exes and Exorcisms is full of banter, danger, snark, bad guys, and of course the hero of all time, Snugglebumpkins’ antics.  To say much more would be giving away spoilers which I try not to do.  Look for some really nasty stuff to be going on and cheer as the newly reunited couple take care of business – oh, and get their relationship straightened out, too.  I had fun here, actually, I had a blast and I’m definitely looking forward to Cowboys and Coffins up next.
