Welcome to a new Romance Sub-Genre — Paranormal Chick Lit!  I love it and I’ll be keeping an eye out for new titles to devour in PCL… and there were so many released recently to kick off the introduction of PCL that I don’t think that’s going to be hard.

To begin with, one of my favorite Shifter Romance series is getting a spin-off in the Forbidden Fangs series and I had a blast with Marla, Grayson, Kelly, and a few old book friends as well.

Recently, Marla and two other captives, her “sisters” managed to escape from “The Collector”.  They separated, each hoping to lead those who would hunt them down in different directions.  Marla found herself in Forbidden, Kentucky – a quirky little town with a very strong magical feel to it, understandable since Forbidden is home to witches, shifters, and much more.  She’s set up her tattoo shop, a way to keep a roof over her head and in some way continue to use her artist’s talents.  For the most part, she’s content, even if she is constantly on edge waiting to be discovered.

Her companion, His Lordship King Snugglebumpkins keeps her on her toes at all times.  One might call him a hell-cat since he greatly reminds others of a hellhound… but cat so don’t insult His Lordship or you’ll feel very sharp claws.  He is full of cat-attitude and I chuckled at every scene he’s in… I hope he makes cameos in the following stories as well.

Grayson is an investor, a billionaire with some connections in Forbidden.  He’s come to town to talk to the owner of the B & B in Forbidden – he can make them both money all he needs is for them to agree to let him help as an investor.  His first moments in Forbidden are a bit… odd, even for a magical town.  And it doesn’t take long for one sexy vampire to catch his attention, even as his wolf is thinking mate.

The danger Marla fears is not far behind as Kelly (one of Marla’s “sisters”) makes contact then appears in town.  What comes next is a story full of chuckles, snark, possibly snort-giggle moments, and a really good story that drew me in and kept me there.  I’m definitely going to enjoy the rest of this series.
