Finding Her Wizard by Gracen Miller

Posted March 7, 2021 by Marsha in Owned, Paranormal Romance, Series, Series Multi-Author, Spin-off or connected to another series / 0 Comments

Nestled between redemption and damnation, Crimson Moon Hideaway was supposed to be a safe haven for the paranormal. Thanks to an unlikely nemesis, it’s anything but a refuge.

Jianna has a Valkyrie spirit and is fed up with Thad McNally’s stunts. Dumping Thad’s body in a watery grave sounds like a great idea but isn’t a viable option. So, she calls in reinforcements to protect the resort and her people. Jianna never expected hunky, heartthrob Hollywood actor, Caleb Weston, to offer her aid. Or that he is the infamous Merlin.

Merlin is no stranger to trouble. He’s solved countless problematic situations during his lifetime. The legend of King Arthur is only the tip of the iceberg. After his recent breakup with his long-time fiancée, he’s eager to help his best friend protect a paranormal oasis. But he gets more than he bargained for… a goddess bent on world domination, and a mate already married to another man.

Caught in the crosshairs of a goddess’ schemes, are they too late to halt her diabolical plans?

Although I have not yet read the entire Black Hollow series it spins-off into the Crimson Moon Hideaway series — all of the Crimson Moon Hideaway titles are by multiple authors, all are standalone titles within the Crimson Moon Hideaway world.  You can find all of the titles in these series, reading order, and authors at the official Black Hollow / Crimson Moon Hideaway website.

Aside from the beginning novel of Finding Her Wizard, watch this space for other titles in the Crimson Moon Hideaway that have been reviewed at Paranormal-y Romantic. 🙂

Beguiled by Darynda Jones

Posted March 5, 2021 by Marsha in Paranormal Women's Fiction, Series / 0 Comments

Newly indoctrinated witch, Defiance Dayne discovers there’s more to life after forty than she’d ever imagined possible. Especially if one is a charmling, one of only three in the world, with enough magics to make her a target for every power-hungry warlock out there. When one of them sends a hunter to town, she knows it’s time to take her talents seriously before the hunter takes her life.

She decides she has three things to do before she can die. Find out who killed her beloved grandmother, teach her BFF the finer points of spellcasting before she blows up the world, and figure out how serious her relationship with the Adonis living in her basement really is. If it’s heading in the direction she’s hoping for, she can die happy. Though, admittedly, she’d rather not. Die. Happy or otherwise.

None of that will matter, however, if she can’t figure out how to foil the supernatural assassin who’s been sent for her. Until then, it’s business—and hopefully romance—as usual. Now if she can only figure out how to tame a lacuna wolf.

Titles in the Betwixt & Between series include – Betwixt – Bewitched  Beguiled(the ending of one trilogy in the series – the beginning of the next trilogy–yes! there are more!) – Moonlight and Magic –

Chaos and Life Gets In The Way

Posted March 5, 2021 by Marsha in Discussion Post / 0 Comments

I know.  Paranormal-y Romantic has been kinda quiet recently.  It’s not that I haven’t been reading some amazing books lately, more like life has gotten in the way of the fun, escape that this blog is for me.  That’s probably something I shouldn’t admit yet my thoughts on books and the reviews I put out there in Paranormal Romancelandia have always been honest, real, and what I’m thinking or feeling – so I’m not going to stop now in giving you reasons why things happen around here as they do.

So.  The pandemic has finally worn me down.  We’re so close to seeing good progress on getting this under control so we can get back to living again (well, living a more normal life, at least).  My state is very slow to be getting those vaccines out, even those people who are supposed to be able to get their shots aren’t having a lot of luck in getting those precious appointments.  Every state is different, I truly believe that this new administration is doing everything they can to get the vaccines out to us… I have faith in them, it’s just taking time because every state has its own rules and frankly, agenda on how to do that.

Well, I had my little meltdown these past weeks.  Reading, playing online video games, puttering around with plants that are just as stubborn as I am, and getting through the day.  I put my foot down today and revamped this website.  I think it looks amazing, you don’t have to agree but I like the way it turned out.  I have a ton (well, maybe only 20 or so) of reviews that need to get written up.  And that begins anew today, not only here at Paranormal-y Romantic, but on my other blogs as well (yes, I’m a multi-blog person).

To be honest, I hope you’ll give me another chance to share my book thoughts on some really good stories I’ve read.  Life happens sometimes, and I don’t really need to explain that but… sometimes I have to remind myself that I’m human, things keep me from doing other things that I love – and that’s okay, really.  So, jumping back into the fray and hoping you’ll come along for the ride with me. 🙂

Petal to the Metal by Annabel Chase

Posted February 4, 2021 by Marsha in Paranormal Cozy Mystery, Paranormal Romance, Paranormal Women's Fiction, Series / 0 Comments

Forty-two-year-old Mia Thorne is not living her best life. After a disastrous career-and-relationship-ending event, she escapes New York City and moves to a sleepy river town in Pennsylvania, courtesy of a dead aunt she never knew. Aunt Hazel was the reclusive family nut, a self-proclaimed psychic. Of course, Mia’s dad always told her that she, too, had the gift, but after his death, her mother made sure to squelch the notion. No square pegs allowed!

Aunt Hazel’s old cottage is only slightly better than the decrepit gardens surrounding it. Mia doesn’t know the first thing about gardening and expects this will be one more failure on her seemingly endless list. Even Aunt Hazel’s ancient cat seems to have pegged her as a loser.

When Mia stumbles over a body in the overgrown garden, the newcomer catches the eye of the police chief and his hotshot detective, Derek Fairfax, and she becomes the number one suspect in the case. Much to her shock and awe, she also catches the eye of Derek’s brother, Dane, a lawyer with a head for what’s legal and a bod for what isn’t—but getting arrested for murder would certainly put a damper on her dating life.

Will Mia tap into her long-buried psychic skills in order to save herself or will she end up digging her own grave?

Titles in The Bloomin’ Psychic series include – Petal to the Metal – Life’s a Birch (May 2021)

The Ghost Hunter Next Door by Danielle Garrett

Posted January 16, 2021 by Marsha in Paranormal Cozy Mystery, Series / 0 Comments

The first rule of being a ghost whisperer: Don’t tell anyone.

Seriously. Don’t.

Sure, it might sound harmless. A fun party trick, even. I assure you, it’s not.

How do I know? Well, let’s just say that I’ve had a lot of experience with this sort of thing, and nine times out of ten, it turns into an all-consuming disaster.

Being plagued by needy ghosts twenty-four/seven is one thing; being harassed by a horde of curious — or worse, grieving — flesh-and-blood people is an entirely different circus. I mean really, who wants to hold an impromptu séance in the middle of the cereal aisle? Not me, and the manager of the grocery store probably isn’t too crazy about the idea, either.

So, that’s it. If you’re a ghost whisperer, just keep your mouth shut and act normal. Ghosts? What ghosts?

Now, if only I would start listening to my own advice …

Titles in the Beechwood Harbor Ghost Mysteries series include –The Ghost Hunter Next DoorGhosts Gone Wild – When Good Ghosts Get the Blues – Big Ghosts Don’t Cry – Diamonds are a Ghost’s Best Friend – Ghosts Just Wanna Have Fun – Bad Ghosts Club –
